Sounds a bit hot, and regardless what they say, I wouldn't say that this is "normal"... it might be what it is, but it's sloppy assembly that is the root of this problem.
After reapplying the paste, I can't get past 88 degrees celcius (190 fahrenheit), and even to get up there I have to push the cpu with yes /dev command in several terminal windows.
The other thing that tends to make it run hot is SC2, which will push the temp to around 78 degress C (172.5 fahrenheit). But it comes down straight away when quitting.
Even with an external monitor, Capture One Pro and Photoshop running 16 bit files, I'm not getting above 68 (154) degrees.
I'd say you could get a long way with the paste job, but also understand if you don't want to do this. It's not very much fun :S
But in that case I would advise you to become a pest towards Apple customer service... and in the end have one of their techs to do that paste job for you. It's hard to ignore reports of temps going down by 20 degrees when people have cleaned up their cpus.
