What to do before selling airpods

Hello - quick question. I’m going to sell my AirPods 2. I just went to Bluetooth to forget the AirPods and it claimed this would take it off iCloud. So is that all that is needed?

Can understand if selling in ear because the tips that you used can discard them and sell the unused ones.

Actually, you want to remove them from your bluetooth as you did, and then hold the reset button on the back of the Airpods case with the Airpods in them.

It makes them stop trying to connect constantly. Then the person who gets them won't receive something with zero battery life.
