With my nMP taking over as my primary desktop, I need to find some usage for my ol' trusty MP3,1 (2x2.8GHz/16GB/240GB Accelsior/GTX680/2x750GB Raid0/USB3)...

What can I possibly use it for? I already have 2 dedicated NASses as well as 2 Time Capsules, and I have a Mac Mini as a media machine next to the TV.

I know it is a luxury problem, but I really don't want to give it away, and the reselling value here in Greenland is very very low.

Can you distribute any part of your workflow to it? Rendering, or batch photo processing, that sort of thing?

Give it to someone who would see the value in it maybe?

With the speed of the nMP my photo editing workflow will be too fast to bother doing any of it on the oMP, but I'll think about it.

I could leave the oMP turned on, connected to the network, but with no screen, no keyboard, and no trackpad. Then Screen Share into it, and use it for downloading, that's possibly a better use...

Part it out. Logic board, PSU, Accelsior, GTX and chassis should still be a quite valuable. You can sell two heatsink + CPU sets as well, it would be good investment for those who own single CPU 2.8 ones. Check pricing of all components on your local eBay or other auction service. Maybe this would be the way to go.

Just tell us how much you have to get out of it. I'd like to get something like that for my kid (48 y.o. Kid) brother. I hate to see a grown man without a Mac Pro ;)

The catch is that I am in Greenland, and the shipping alone to the US would amount to USD250. It is funny enough much cheaper to ship from the US to Greenland... Hence i need to sell it here, or use it for something...

Entertainment. Plug it into 6 screens, make it your entertainment and gaming hub.

I'd sell it. Return the machine to base specification and sell the upgrades individually.
Seems like a lot of money and a waste to have tied up in a media machine.
