I have a Mac Mini from 2006 which was a Core Duo which I upgraded to a Core2Duo (as well as a SSD and more RAM).

As such, it has 32bit EFI (I think).

I want to use it as a VMWare Horizon machine to log into work remotely, but I'm hitting many walls! (I also need it to be able to see a Lenovo USB dock with a second display.)

I tried installing ChromeOS via the new Flex method (Get Chrome OS Flex for PC or Machttps://chromeenterprise.google › os › chromeosflex) but the USB, which works on my Macbook Pro (2014) is unreadable on the Mini, and doesn't show when I reboot and hold Option.

I doubt installing XP via Bootcamp would work (I presume the Horizon client needs something a little more secure).

No idea how to install Linux, but happy to try.

Any ideas?

Can I update the EFI to 64bit? (Would that help?)

My 2007 mini died one day (in 2015).
These things don’t last forever. Be prepared for it to suddenly go belly up one day.

My 2009 Mac mini is a display item in the background of my videos. I also have an original Mac I need to add to the background.
