If/when I buy a 119 dollar 100 GIG seagate drive, is there any good use to put my old HD from my macbook to?

I hate to just leave it sitting on my desk. Is it worth selling? How much can I get out of it?

Having an emergency recovery, drop in drive could be very handy.

Before you replace the drive configure it with everything you need to get up
and running again, just in case.

You can buy an enclosure for it and turn it into an external hard drive 🙂

Yeah, that's about the best solution. That's what I did after my iBook went up in smoke. Threw it down the garbage chute 2 weeks before Apple had the massive logic board recall.

The hard drive is still kicking though.

I'd suggest the same. Cheap ($20 or so) and, really, quite useful. Also, you never know when you'll need a notebook hard drive.
