It's a green clamshell iMac running OS9 (Z2-9.0.4)
Built in memory: 32mb
Virtual memory: 64mb
MAC OS ROM 5.5.1
4GB HD (ATA BUS 0 Dev 0 v 3.2.6)

It was 2 minutes away from being sent to the big computer resting place in the sky before I rescued it 😛

It appears to be in excellent condition with very little signs of use, so what should I do with it?

I already have a Dual 2.5 G5 and a 17" Powerbook so don't need another computer, but am interested to know how it could be used.

Any ideas would be gratefully received 🙂

Donate to a needy school or Seniors/Adult learning center, get a reciept, take a tax deduction 🙂

that would be a great "1st computer" for a little kid, if you know any that might be a nice possibility giving you personal gratification for creating a new mac user 🙂

What's the most up-to-date OS which could be installed on it?

And how easy would it be to upgrade the HD etc?

I have an idea of a kid who would appreciate it, but it may be a little too slow as it currently stands.

Thanks! 🙂

I wouldnt put more than OS 10.2 on it

hard drive upgrade is a little tricky, but not too hard. Be sure to download a copy of the imacs service manual.

it's got 32mb of ram, yes? i wouldn't put os x on it at all without upgrading the ram...but with more ram and a bigger hard drive that's a reasonably good machine.
