Alright. So my entire family is verizon, including my fiance. I currently am on my mothers family share for $10 a month then another $10 for text. I really want the iPhone. I have made up my mind to keep my verizon phone. Is it worth keeping my verizon account and having to phones? I will do call forwarding from my verizon line to iphone. The only thing I am thinking of is texting, I wish there was a way to forward those also.

Any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated as I have no clue what to do....

Why would you keep the Verizon phone and forward everything to your iPhone? That wouldn't save you any minutes or anything ... Once the call is forwarded you will be using your AT&T minutes and the caller would not be getting a free mobile to mobile service.

I would personally ditch the Verizon service completely if you want an iPhone that bad ( I left Sprint where all my family and friends were except my Girlfriend whom has AT&T ), but if your plan is to maximize your minutes by keeping Verizon I guess you'll have to carry two phones.

Oh, so if you forward your verizon to iphone, then the people who call my verizon number will not benifit from mobile to mobile? I was told they would.

I just made the switch from Verizon to ATT. I was on my dad's family plan and had to ditch it. It's going to cost me more money, but it's worth it for me.

They would, I'm fairly sure.

Yea I just called. They would. So yea it wouldnt be that bad. I do not pay for my verizon service my mother still does :D

So when I call my faimily or fiance, I would just call from my verizon phone. No big deal. Like I said, the only pain is going to be texting. What would other people do in this situation. Its not like I will use my verizon min. because we have unlimited.

I did the same thing: I was on a Verizon family plan and I transferred to ATT for the iphone. I kept my Verizon line as it was only $10 per month.

The benefits are that you can basically call any mobile number now for free, since most people use either Verizon or ATT.

The downside is that you have to manage two phones now, and perhaps carry both around with you.

Try Google Voice to have both phone ring from a central number.

If you don't have enough minutes on ATT (I chose the 450 minute plan), then I suggest keeping the Verizon line so you can call your family for free. If you have an unlimited plan on ATT, then you may as well ditch the Verizon line.
