Hoping for an iMac with a usable screen. No reason a 30" screen couldn't fit within the old 27" model with bezels bigger than most sidewalks. Eliminate the bezel, give us a decent OLED screen, 32GB RAM stock, 2TB min storage for $1999 and it would be not a horrible deal. Instead we'll probably get 24" with a screen with decade old tech for $3999 for those specs.

I want to sell my M1 mac mini if it’s true the mac mini M4 will get 16GB as the base model but it sounds too good to be true

I have to think that will happen. The EU deadline to have all power connections as USB-C is coming up at the end of December. I can't see Apple waiting much longer to make that change.
Apple doesn't have to make the change until after the EU deadline. It only affects newly released products.

That being said, I'd still expect USB-C accessories in October.

How about displays come with a slot on the back so the smaller Mac mini can clip on - obviating the need for iMacs?
I have been calling for that for years. It would be even better if the monitor included a bit of supplemental cooling. If you turn a Mini on it's side, you will disrupt convection, making it run a bit warmer.
Both the previous base M2, M3 SoC's offered 24GB max unified memory, seems the right time for the base M4 to support 32GB RAM finally. The problem is that Apple deliberately teased us all only using a M4 with 16 GB in this May's IPad Pro's, it's been a lot of biding time to find out the true specs concerning M4. ;)
I could seriously use a few M4 Studio Ultras that have a good 128 GB of RAM or more. I am having to farm out way to much of my computation to AWS. A Studio Ultra or three with lots of RAM could save me a small fortune.

But the real question remains simple: october having 31 days, how can we know when this event will be held?

Let’s start a pool: I say the 8th.

And I buy a MacBook pro the same day.

Mac mini will be my new desktop, and for software reasons, I can't wait! I will wait for first reviews, but yeah, probably order by the end of the month hopefully

I like the form factor of the iPad Mini, but I do wish it was not necessarily a premium iPad -- or at least that there was a more basic iPad in that size, something that comes in cheaper than the basic full-size iPad instead of $150 more.
I don’t think it will ever be cheaper since the miniaturization is more expensive.

Anyone remember the PowerBook Duo and the Duo Dock? With a 33 MHz processor and 8 MG of RAM, you could make a great usage of your 200 MB hard drive!

If you bought 2 Duo Docks, you could have one at home and the other one in the office. Wow!

I was never able to justify buying the Duo, but I finally bought a LC475 to replace my old Mac Plus, if I remember well. What a machine!

iPad Mini not getting Pencil Pro support? If so, it will be the only device Apple sells that still uses Pencil 2, which will delay being able to phase out that Pencil by several years probably.

What about getting an MBP M3 Max at a discount?

Design will stay the same, and performance improvements on the high end haven't been super dramatic. The M3 Max will likely still outperform the M4 Pro and have 36 GB no matter what.
