Any idea if they're adding hot water to Home at some point?
I might have just answered my own question from the CSA website for Matter 1.4:

"Water Heaters – Electric water heaters can be set to a preset temperature or percentage, letting users monitor hot water levels. A boost command, which enables rapid heating from multiple energy sources for situations where hot water is needed quickly, allows temporary overrides in the heating schedule, ideal for situations like hosting guests. This gives consumers more control and flexibility. Additionally, the new Water Heater Mode cluster provides users with the ability to easily toggle scheduling on and off, making it simple to adjust heating patterns when normal routines change."

So I guess if it only got added with Matter 1.4 that's only been fixed in November, that's why I haven't got it yet, but it'll be coming sooner or later...

Holy **** how many times is Macrumors going to post the same article? I have lost track of how any articles I see like every other day all saying the same thing: what to expect in the next iOS update, what to expect next with Siri, what to expect with Apple Intelligence, here is when the next updates are coming, etc. Is this site ran by bots now or what?

Worst part, most of those updates do nothing for devices older than iPhone 16. No one cares about AppleIntelligence.

Have any of the robot vacuum manufacturers indicated they will support control from Home yet?
Robot vacs were added as part of Matter v1.2, so they may not need to support Homekit specifically, just support Matter 1.2 implementation, then it works with all Apple/Google/Amazon things that support vacs via Matter.

Total letdown for you only it would appear.. What makes you think this is common and widespread? Have you performed any troubleshooting at all? Why extrapolate your experience as the norm rather than the exception? Why would another update fix your problems.

iOS 18.2 has not frozen once for me. iOS 18.2 is very screen responsive for me. I have not lost any photos or videos.
Yes you read it right. I told for me. Did I mention everyone? What extrapolation as the norm are you talking about?

Good for you your iOS is working as a charm. That’s what I normally expect an update to do 😊

I’m curious if I’m the exception now you mention it. Is iOS working for everyone as a charm? No one having troubles with it?

You seem to be a very lucky guy! I searched if there were any known problems and this guy is experiencing the same problems I have. So at least I’m not the only one here 😅

I really hope this update solves it for me!

Spot-on and same here for me. 18.2 has been solid. Zero issues, and especially like the Photos app and configurations. Also... security-related fixes are always welcome.

I've been really disappointed with iOS 18. It is very janky on my iPhone 13. It has been a major performance downgrade from iOS 17.
That’s odd, I’ve been running all the latest iOS 18s on my iPhone Pro Max and they’ve been working just fine. 🤷

Waiting for 18.4 to test more Apple Intelligence features. Hopefully Siri gets a little better after that update.
This is absolutely what I am waiting for too. I mean, I am not expecting Jarvis or even the knowledge navigator, but I could really do with something very close to either one of them. Jarvis is sentient and I think that’s a little further than I want to go.

What I expect? Nothing.

and 2 years ago I was one of those who updated to the beta right after the keynote.
As long as the camera roll doesn't come back, I'll stay on iOS 17
