Mine were impacted but hadn't erupted yet so I had them all taken out under general anesthesia. The operation was fine but the post op was tough... my face was swollen for a week and I didn't leave the house until nearly 2 weeks after they came out

I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth taken out while I was under general anesthesic many years ago when I was 16. Had a weird reaction to the drug--made me cry when I woke up, even though I was HAPPY the operation was over with, and the pain had not kicked in yet. Really worried my poor mom, but I got over that strange little mood blip pretty quickly.

My jaw swelled up enough that it bruised, making me look like I needed a shave--especially annoying since I'm a girl.

I also had more bleeding that the oral surgeon had led us to believe, but it turns out it was a normal amount. I ate lots of ice cream--the cool temp was soothing!!! ;)

Have never missed those suckers, and am glad they are gone!

Its bit of pain. take the pain killers and dont try to have any hard food for atleast three or four days.
