This is the iPhone forum. Where people post questions about iPhone. He doesn't need to give his life story here. He's already given enough information relative to the topic for people to be able to help him out.

But the thing is this... He DID give his life's story.... at least a lot of it so by doing that he decided it was ok for people to comment on it.

OP I agree with most.... Sorry for your loss. All your info is there and will remain there until you make it go away..... as far as I know, it's all there in iCloud if you're using it. If not do it. Good luck.

I'm aware I've brought my situation on myself. I know I need to help myself, I just haven't figured out how yet. People make resume building sound like a routine thing but for me its not. About a week before she unexpectedly died (sounds like it was a brain aneurysm by the way) I had finally agreed to seek assistance, maybe see if I'm on the aspergers spectrum or something and qualify for job placement. Make some kind of progress.

I do have family doing what they can about the actual funeral plans and other things. There was no will, no life insurance. we were living month to month this past year at least.

Sorry about your Mom :( I don't know what state you live in, but I think you need some state assistance until you can get on your feet. They can help you with food, cash and employment assistance. Some even offer training on job placement. You should look into it. As for the phone situation, you say your Grandma is also on the plan, can she help with the bill and can you stay with her until you are able to take care of yourself?

If you want a job you can find one, assuming you are able bodied and minded. It may not be your dream job (in fact it almost certainly won't be) but you can find one. If you're not in the middle of nowhere, I can almost guarantee a retail store is hiring for overnight stocking near you. A resume is probably nice to have, but certainly not a requirement. The turnover is so high in stocking positions that they often take whatever they can get. (I realize the thread isn't about this, but you gave us some info and you will likely find yourself hungry and cold if your mom was truly your only means of shelter and food).

As for your phone, there are government funded programs for mobile phones. You mentioned you needed a phone, you can almost certainly get one for free with a couple hundred minutes (maybe even no limit) per month. You will have to look into that, but if what you are worried is not having a phone at all, don't worry about it. It won't be an iPhone, but it will be a phone you can use for emergencies, and of course as means of being contacted for that job interview. Of course there are also means of obtaining food credits and even housing, but that varies by state as well.

I don't think AT&T will shut down your service immediately. Some months ago we got our new chip and pin cards and I forget auto pay was on the old one. It took two months before AT&T sent me anything regarding "please pay us now". They didn't threaten to terminate. It is a "business" account that has been up to date completely for 5+ years though.

You can backup your iPhone tot he cloud. That will 'forever' backup all texts and everything. This way, whatever may happen to your phone, if and when you get a replacement iphone everything will be there for you. You can also backup to your computer for some added redundancy.

Best of luck. I know this is a terrible time for you right now.

My condolences. It sucks when life deals you a **** card when youre in a rough spot to begin with. I'll spare you life advise, but know that there are still lots of compassionate people out there who will understand your circumstances and will work with you to get yourself to a better spot.

Best of luck.

Sorry for the loss of your mom.. But honestly like every one else go get a job. It's all you can really do now..

Im 21, I stupidly moved away from home for college and a girl two years ago.. Started working over the summer and ended up dropping out of college whom nowI owe several thousands too.. So I can't go back to finish my degree..But I went from making 8$ an hour to 21.50$ just by applying myself. It's not much but it's something. Mind you regarding transportation you don't alw need a car. At one point I was catching the bus 2 1/2 hours one way. That's 5 hours a day on the bus alone. Factor in sleep, and a 9 hour shift all I was doing was working, sitting on a bus and sleeping for half a year. You can most certainly do it. You have my condolences though. It's tough to lose someone so close, but life goes on. And they'll live on in you. Not trying to sound like an Everest commercial but don't let life pass you by.
