what to use to play WMV video files?

    my friend always sends me videos in WMA format.

    is there a free play that i can download that plays this kind of format?

    The free VLC player can play them, or you can download the free Flip4Mac player, which actually makes it so that QuickTime can play them.

    I prefer VLC because it starts them more quickly.

    Flip4Mac or Perian.

    Perian supports a couple more formats, though.

    MPlayer is also really good. I've been noticing that it doesn't lag as much as VLC on my iBook G4.
