Just wondering which would be the most appropriate app to use when doing BodyPump type exercises?

On the Workout app: selecting 'Other' - would that be the best option?
Are there other apps that would be better?

I've used the "other" option for each weightlifting workout I've done so far. Measures heart rate and calories burned, but that's about it. For split cardio/weight workouts I stop the activity and re-start.. i.e. Indoor run and then "other".

Thanks for the tip about the split cardio/weights workouts. I should have my watch in the coming week and am looking forward to trying the Workout app in the various classes I go to, one of which is a combination of a Pump-style work out with weights and a cardio part with a step.
Have you found it fiddly to stop and start in the middle of workouts, or, once you know your way around the app can you do it fairly easily?

It's a bit of a PITA. I just use Other for the whole thing. You're just losing the distance element that way but the cardio is more about the heart rate than speed/distance in class. Other gives you the HR data.

Thanks for the info! It sounds as if, at least in the beginning, I'd be best off sticking to "Other" for the various classes, particularly since they all have quite a mix of activities and are not really classifiable into the current options. And also since I don't have my glasses on in the classes (need them for reading) and don't want to be squinting at the watch all the time!

This is what I did as well on my first gym/non-run workout. Indoor walk for treadmill and other for weights.

I felt like the indoor walk was way, way off on calories burned. But was surprisingly close on pace, distance and HR compared to treadmill. But after a 25 min walk at a semi brisk pace (15 min/mile) where I added .5 hill every minute (after a 4 min warm up) it only reflected 101 calories burned. I think it should have been in the 250 range.

I reflected 150 calories burned in other for 26 minutes of weight lifting. I'm thinking this might be fairly close.
