Hi. I just purchased a 2017 27” iMac. I have an Ezio CS 2730 external display that is hooked up via DisplayPort to my 2013 MBP. What type of cable do I need to hook it up to my new 27” iMac?

I am attaching a photo of the ports on it.

OP, I had the same setup - rMBP and Eizo display - as you. I'm going to disagree with Fishrrman with that product choice. Eizo is one of the few display makers that shipped with DP/VESA certified cables, stick with a manufacturer that makes cables that have taken the time and expense of getting their products DP/VESA certified - I'll offer a product I'm using now with my iMP and displays with DP ports, made by Accell Cables. No personal affiliation whatsoever.

Products like those in Fishrrman offer "compatible" in their description. Compatible is marketing-speak for "junk". Search the internet for "Power over Pin 20", that should do it.

Thank you so much for this info campyguy. I'll check it out. I chatted with Apple and they recommended a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter. He said I needed HDMI, which didn't make sense to me. I told him I don't think that's the cable I need. And then I saw your post which made my day!!!! I was looking all over for a DisplayPort cable that would work.

You're welcome, I hope it works out. No worries, and I understand that most users don't "get it" - as I've posted here before I was one of those who didn't understand why the PCs and Mac connected to Eizo displays worked perfectly while the same PCs and Mac connected to other displays froze or crashed. Eizo displays ship with DP certified cables, I'd learned, while the Dells and HPs and ViewSonics did not - a multi-tester and the internet led me to the solution and Accell/StarTech/Belkin. I'd recommended the Accell cable from personal experience, and it's a major PITA (trust me on this one) to get cables from Eizo unless you're buying a new display from Eizo...

I learned the difference between the words "compatible" and "certified", most others haven't or don't care - until they have issues. That cable I'd linked to - I'd buy it again... Cheers!
