What type of games work best with a Mac?

For example, I'm thinking about picking up Doom 3. It is out for both Mac and Windows. Which version should I buy? Thanks!

Always get the Mac version, unless it required a Mac OS prior to X. Since you can't run Classic apps on an Intel machine, get the Windows version of older software like that.
