GPA is going to matter TSE, and that ACT score is not high enough. I would take it again, as well as the SAT. You definitely will want above a 30 on your ACT. I got a 32, and that still would not have been good enough.

Do all that and come to Chicago! You'll love it here.

GPA matters the most from what I gathered, I had a 4.2-4.6 I think and took honors throughout and took AP classes but had an 23 for the ACT and I got accepted in every college I applied for (albeit 2 :p). The ACT is a good marker to know where you are.

And yes, Chicago is pretty awesome so far, Depaul is a great school.

Do what I didn't, apply to local colleges, those in the city and the best in the state. Good variety and a good way to note how much money you can get from the school

You have calculus which is always a good thing, your GPA is above 3.0 but if you can get it to 3.2 by graduation and do very well on the SAT, Northwestern may be a possibility. I think Chicago would be a very, very hard school to get into.

Unless things have changed, Chicago is probably like Stanford or the Ivies and likes an A student vs. a B student. Even with a decent 3.5 GPA, I would think Chicago would want a strong ACT and SAT. It's regarded as the best college in the Midwest.
