Hello there!

I'm new to the whole mac business!, I've always been around Mac's but never personally owned one.

I've had an iPhone.. etc etc and I currently own an iPad 1st gen.

But now I decided to purchase a Macbook off of ebay! and what a deal it was if I say so my self!

Late '06 macbook.
Storage - Fujitsu 200 GB
Memory - 2 GB
Optical drive - Matshita DVD-R (read and write)

And that's it so far! it's the 1.83GHz Processor!

Now I'm just wondering what kind of upgrades I can make to it in order to speed it up, but also perform well when dealing with multiple tasks and having multiple windows open.

I use iTunes regularly, also I download and stream music/films very often and soon to be using photoshop on the macbook!

Any help would be cool!

Thanks a lot!

Damien

From everymac.com :

"*Apple officially supports 2 GB of RAM, but third-parties have been "unofficially" able to upgrade it to 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM (it can hold 4 GB but cannot fully utilize the memory beyond 3 GB due to the same limitation that impacts the "Late 2006" MacBook Pro line)."

So, you could put a 2GB stick of RAM in it for a total of 3GB.

That's not much for multitasking.

It'll run Lion, but I'm pretty sure Snow Leopard will run better (definitely better than Leopard). It shipped with Tiger.

Thanks very much for the help!

I'm currently running SL 10.6.8 and it's a real smooth OS, really enjoying it!
