What USB 3.0 hubs are working with the new iMac?

It really does look aces. Just the idea of silver duck tape makes me cringe a tad... a lot... :D

Very close to just buying the darn thing, though. :D If I could just open it up and disconnect all the LEDs I'd buy it in a heartbeat. :D

Last question: How wide is the unit (length-ways). I'm wondering if I can hide it in my Twelve South HiRise iMac stand, you see. :)

Length is 18.5 cm

Height is 5 cm

Depth is 5 cm

Has anybody seen a USB 3 hub that is also a SD card reader? I love my new iMac but putting the card or USB cables around the back is doing my head in.

You might check out the newly released OWC "miniSTACKmax" which has:

-- 3 port USB-3 hub (one high powered 2-amp for iPad charging only),
-- front facing SD card reader,
-- internal optical reader/burner (CD / DVD / BluRay),
-- internal 3.5" hard disk or SSD.
-- It also has eSATA and FireWire input capability.

Although intended for the Mac Mini market, I think it would look pretty nice sitting under the iMac as well and adds optical and aux disk drive through USB-3.0.

Note: The "0GB" models can be ordered with or without the optical drive. If I am understanding the specs, only the disk can be interfaced through USB/FireWire/eSATA ports, the rest of the unit requires a USB connection. This isn't a problem with the new iMacs, since the whole box can be driven from a single USB-3.0 cable.

Unfortunately, there isn't a CF card reader too, or Thunderbolt interface, or dual SSD drive capability.
