Out of curiosity because I think 3G is plenty fast. If it uses less battery life then I'd only use WiFi to download music from iTunes.

According to Apple, the phone's "battery life may be improved by using Wi-Fi instead of cellular data networks."

3G drain more battery than wifi, while it has to send out a much stronger signal

Another reason why wi-fi can be better is bc its much faster which means you can get online and get back off in less time if you aren't just killing time browsing.

It does depend on part on the strength of the signal. If 3G signal strength is low it has to bost power to maintain connection, using significantly more power.

I believe the same is true for WiFi too.
