After selling my 6S Plus last week, I (impatiently) decided not to wait for the new iPhone announcement and picked up a 12GB Space Gray iPhone SE instead. The 4 inch display still has its perks! One-handed operation is breeze, battery life is solid, and I love how pocketable it is.
That said, it’s going back to the Apple Store. It's a nice device, but I’m not confident it’s one I’ll enjoy using for 1-2 years.
So tonight I found a brand new unlocked (A1661) 128GB matte black iPhone 7 Plus for $770, and that's the one. After nearly two years with my 6S Plus, I was able to upgrade to a new iPhone for about $350. And even if Apple lowers the price for the 7 models next week by $100, I’ll still come out ahead because I didn’t pay sales tax on top.
Of course I’ll still be interested in seeing what they announce next week, but for my usage I know the 7 Plus will provide more than enough power to meet my needs for the next year or two.
