What version is my iphone?

a friend jsut bought an iphone. Havent taken it out of the box yeath. How can i find out what version it is?

go to settings-general-about-then scroll down to where it says version.

or.. a more fun way of doing it...

hold your finger on an icon for a couple of seconds, if they start to jiggle you got 1.1.3!

if not, most probably just 1.1.2...

that i know. but how can i find out without activation?

i don't think you really can without opening it,but i could be wrong-- it may be possible with week # in the serial?
