    It will come with Leopard
And it will be upgradeable to Snow Leopard at the upgrade cost

Not at the upgrade cost, it is $9.95 for Macs purchased on or after June 8th.

That is THEIR upgrade cost... sorry, that is what I meant
In other words, it isn't a free upgrade

Not sure if that was a joke or not... I'm a first-time Mac user, please don't add on to the confusion. :)

They are joking with you... they come with the latest version of Leopard
And your upgrade would be $9.95 to Snow Leopard when it comes available
Previous Leopard users will upgrade for $29

It is called the Up To Date program.

Buy a new Mac close before the release of a new OS version and you will be able to buy this new version for a heavily discounted price when it comes out.

    Eh, that wasn't cool.

Thanks MacDawg and frou for the further explanation. I think I'm actually starting to get it now.

Sweet! I didn't know about that; although, I probably should buy the family pack, since there are 6 Macs in the house right now on Leopard..

Sorry for adding to the confusion. I understand what it is like to be new to mac.

Like others have said, it comes with leopard 10.5.7 and yes you can upgrade to snow leopard for 9.95 when it is released.
