I have version 9.1.12 of iTunes on my Windows 7 computer. Will there be any problems syncing a 4G iPod Touch with this version of iTunes or will I need to upgrade to version 10? This will be my first iPod Touch, so I am new at this.

You probably need iTunes 10.

So what are everyone's experiences been with the 10.0 with Windows 7, so far? I have always been reluctant to upgrade to the X.0 version, but I guess I have no choice, or do I?

Yeah, you don't have a choice. You might as well upgrade now to get used to it.

Thanks for the link. I hadn't really been looking at the exact specs for the 4G iPod Touch. I will definitely upgrade to iTunes 10, and hope for the best.

They have changed some things (many things it seems they changed "just because"), but for the most part it's the same. I run Windows 7 as well and it just has a bit different look, but is the same otherwise.

Also, you may want to take notice of this thread. I am assuming everything is setup for OS X, but I am not sure how this would work if you tried replacing the .rscr in Windows.

I am finding 10 a huge improvement on Windows 7, seems to be a lot more optimized, previously music and apps tabs would load quite slowly as the images updated, was slightly improved on 9.2 but now it is almost instant. Checking for app updates is almost an instant response now as well when previously it would take 20-30 seconds. I like the new UI enhancements also, for me it has been well worthwhile updating.

10.5

i found online that you must have the following system requirements: and Apple ID which you should already have, syncing with iTunes which again you should have, and iTunes 10.5 or later

hope this helps :D
