Best guess I have heard was that third party complications were not working and causing problems.

I'm running the WatchOS 2 GM and iOS 9 GM. Battery life and performance were good on both, so I don't know that it's necessarily related to that. But when The Weather Channel released their updated app with a complication and native watch app, it didn't work. I kept getting errors stating that my location was unavailable, even though my phone was set to allow TWC to use my location always. After struggling a while, I finally toggled location services off then on for TWC, and that seemed to fix it.

I'm pretty technically savvy, and even I had a hard time getting it to work. I can't be sure, but it sounds like third-party apps were not pulling the app permissions settings off of the phone. I've seen other posts getting at the same thing.

Regardless, I hope my Watch is able to update once the final version is released.

That's really my only concern. I had iOS 9 GM installed on my iPad and iPhone and I was able to update the iPad to the 42 MB release but not the phone as it won't show up at all. At least I can do a DFU restore on the phone.

Same issue on my 6 Plus. Showing that my phone is up-to-date. My iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5s were still on 8.4.1. The Air updated quickly; 5s is taking a while. No update showing on the 6 Plus running the GM. My guess is they're rolling it out gradually...or I'm wondering...are you running the WatchOS 2 GM? I just wonder if it's only those of us who have that profile on our phones who aren't seeing the update.

Yep, I installed the watchOS 2 GM a couple days ago. I ended up doing a restore on the iPhone through iTunes and re-paired the watch. Hope that wasn't the wrong thing to do.

I have WatchOS 2 GM and this morning I was able to download the Weather Channel, which currently has a chance of rain complication. The complication works well, the app, however, is slow as ever to load. Probably isn't running on Watch

I know there was a problem with the watch updating your location but yesterday I had an impossible time updating. I was golfing in Minneapolis and I use the modular face. I'm running OS2 GM and when I got home in Wisconsin, the watch was still showing Minneapolis weather information. I touched the weather section on the watch and it brought up Minneapolis info and it said it was using location services. Nothing I did on the watch it phone would change it either. I had to power off and on in order to get to see my new location.

Anyone know what the bug actually was?

Unspecified bug that delays launch? Most likely a security vulnerability.

Unrelated - what the hell is up with these annoying inline ads that pop up in the forum topics just as I'm trying to click on one, causing me to unwittingly click the ad instead? This has the be the most obnoxious ad configuration I've ever seen...

This mirrors my situation to a tee. When I try to add that complication to my watch face it just displays the name of the app. The app is also very slow to open as if it's not actually on the watch but pulling from the phone like on 1.0.1

I have baby monitor on my watch which has been updated to watchos 2, and it just spins and then crashes. I guess it's to do with apps running on the watch.

I thought I read somewhere that a native app can conflict with a 3rd party app and start a continuous loop.

Edit: Looking for article

This is the update I was looking forward too. Sure iOS 9 is cool, but the watchOS was a huge improvement. I can't believe after all that beta testing we they still had a bug big enough to stop the release. Can't say I am not disappointed.

Same here. I was looking forward to OS9, but to get the watch IOS2 is what I was really looking forward to.

Keep in mind had the bug been in iOS 9 and not released you would be without both.;)
That is true, but I was not really that excited about iOS 9. I was looking forward to watchOS. This is about excusable as Apple not putting OIS in the 6S. They had 2 months of beta testing to find bugs, and you decided on the day you are suppose to release it.

So all of that stuff about how Apple was re-doubling their efforts on polish and stability was for nothing I guess. Another year another OS release gaffe.

Shame Apple didn't offer as many betas to watchOS 2 as they did for 9.0. This probably wouldn't have been an issue today if they did

I am glad they didn't release software for the watch that could cause problems (without a port, this could be a serious problem). Was looking forward to it, but if the software wasn't ready, than it is better this way.

I can see this statement if the release had been performed with the bug in place, but some people just have an agenda.

Anecdotal evidence, but I installed the GM last week and myself and a few others that I saw posting in the GM thread were reporting terrible battery life after the install. My Watch would run from 100% to dead within 4 hours. A reset and re-pair as a new watch fixed it, but that might have something to do with the delay.
