Showed 100% out of the box. After getting it setup and plugged into the Mac to load everything from iTunes, it showed 90%.

Charged to 98 then watched an hour of Netflix unplugged. Battery dropped to 94% in that time with brightness at 50%.

While restoring from my 17" MBP it says "Not Charging". Does that mean the new iPad only charges from the wall charger or does it have something to do with the restore process?

I was wondering the same thing. I had mine plugged into my PC and it wasn't charging. I am even more thankful for wireless sync.
