What we really need is a capacitive button on the iPhone

I have a 4s but I still have a 3G iPhone that I use just for odd ball stuff. That home button on the 3G still works fine and it has been pressed MANY MANY times. I wonder why these other home buttons are failing. Aren't they the same?

My iPhone 3G failed after 6 months with a broken homebutton
My iPhone 4 failed after 8 months with a broken homebutton, and then the replacement failed 6 months later with a broken homebutton.

My 4S, the button doesnt make the same "click" my old iPhones used to, and it makes me paranoid everytime I press it.

I would love a touch button for the homebutton.
