With all this video conferencing we are now doing I was considering getting a webcam so that I am not relying on the built in MacBook Air camera.

This will allow it to be mounted higher and in a better position so working on the laptops at the same time is easier.

What have you found to be the best option for a USB C camera?

No recommendations but I think most webcams are currently out-of-stock just about everywhere!

Yes. Been looking on Amazon. Anything that looks half decent is out of stock.

The Logitech Streamcam looks like a decent unit.

You didn't say what Mac you have or what version of macOS. For future-proofing (if you're not on Catalina yet), be sure that you get verification that the device on has compatibility with Catalina as it requires devices to have 64-bit software/firmware. Some vendors have not updated their "System Requirements"…they might say something like "macOS 10.12 or above" but have not updated that info since Catalina came out. Catalina "broke" a lot of third-party devices for macOS.

I opted for the Logitech 4K Pro Magnetic Webcam for Pro Display XDR with my LG UltraFine 4k. It's USB-C, 4K, HDR and really is great. It also looks good with my screen and the set up!
