I purchased a 27in. i5 on Black Friday with the yellow tinge issue. I exchanged it out on Dec. 6th but they told me that they can't guarantee that I will not have the problem again with another iMac, and they also told me that they will not exchange it if the same problem comes up. My new iMac still has the yellow tinge, but what will happen now? If Apple changes out the graphics cards will Apple let me return it. I am out of the two weeks from the Black Friday purchase to exchange out. Will they go by another two weeks from the day that I exchanged it, or is the 14 day policy start from the original purchase date? If they change out the graphics card will Apple let us exchange our device once the issue is corrected?

They'll keep on exchanging it, or repairing it, until you get a properly working machine.. I can't even imagine someone saying they wouldn't.. If it was me I would politely ask to speak to that stores manager, respectfully explain the situation and make it clear this "one shot" exchange deal they're offering isn't acceptable.. Just calmly state your case & I'm sure any reasonable person will agree with you..

Who are "they"? Certainly not an Apple store. Did you buy it through a third-party retailer?

This was most certainly an Apple Store. I don't have the time to keep returning and lugging this iMac around. The yellow tinge is not as bad on this one, but it's still there. I'm hoping Apple will replace my machine once they correct the problems.

I find it extremely hard to believe that an Apple employee told you that, but maybe you ran into a sour apple. Either way, do not worry, Apple will fix and/or replace your computer as long as you are under Applecare. Guaranteed.

The best cure for this yellow tinge is to get past the return period.
Suddenly, without the ticking clock telling you "change it, change it", the problem magically disappears and you start using and enjoying the computer instead of checking frantically to see if you can spot a dreaded "yellow tinge". Methinks Apple could cut their customers' frustrations in half by reducing the return period to one week instead of two.

    are you kidding ??

are you aware of the fact, that in certain countries an iMac i7 costs more than a whole month salary for some people ?
And this are not the lowest paid ones.

are you aware of the fact that many professionals are depending on an accurate rendition of color by their computers and their livelihood depends on it ?

are you aware of the fact, if it was a underperforming car instead of a computer, you may just get hit in your @$$ and maybe killed because somebody may have accepted a product that is not up to par ??

That was a very silly proposal of yours to solve a problem that shouldn't happen in the first place.

they have to exchange /repair your iMac , its the law in any country that a customer gets what he pays for a fully working product and even if the exchanged one gets the yallow tinge after 3 month they have to exchange/repair (whichever is cheaper for them)it under warranty and they will do the same if it happens after 18 month if you took out apple care (thats what the warranty/apple care is for)

so dont worry , its annoying to get a yellow tinge iMac ,
but you are not alone ,there are others too with yellow tinge , failling harddrives and failing bluetooth and all got them replaced ,without fuss
my mate had now number 3 after number 1 had failing bluetooth number 2 the yellow tinge or was it the other way round and he was happy with the number 3 until it stopped yesterday for no apparent reason , but he gets number 4 maybe this week
..... i`m not allowed to mention that my eMac is working flawless since end 2005 and my iMac g3 flawless for 8 years until the harddrive failed (thats a good lifespan for a harddrive )
..cant help to make sarcastic comments about his so superior fast and big iMac 27...i told him when number 3 failed "you did put windows on it now it`s not a bug its a feature "
