OK RD is amazing, it makes the screen look like reading a colorful magazine on glossy paper.

So what will Apple do for Iphones 5?

Like, will it have Retina Display Ultra??? Maybe 500 dpi, something that's like reading on a hologram. or something.

Who can tell us what it will have?

It will very likely be the same screen as the iP4.

I'm curious, is this a serious question?

The Original iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS all had the same screen resolution. The next iPhone won't have a new screen.

Ignoring the fact that you're a kid, I'll oblige.

It's obvious that the Retina Display will last at the very minimum of 2 years. The only reason for Apple to increase the resolution is if they increase the screen size. The iPhone 5 will have the same screen.

With that aside, how do you know what reading on a hologram is like?

Cuz holograms have true-to-life display, they are like 500-600 dpi at least.

I think next years iPhone will just be a speed upgrade. It'll likely be the same screen as the current iPhone.

I kind of hope they keep the design exactly the same, just to spite everyone who thinks they ****ed up with the exterior antenna.

This is not as stupid a question as some of you are making it out to be.

Yeah, it'll just be a spec bump. Which is great, I think.

It's somewhat a pattern with apple with the iPhones now it seems.

the second generation had a redesign,

the third generation same design, spec bump

the 4th generation redesign

& now the 5th generation will go along with the spec bump

I believe we will see a bigger screen in the 6th generation :)

The front side of the iPhone is starting to look obsolete and although the retina display is a nice change we now need a screen size upgrade to fully see a change to the iPhones front

I believe the home button will disappear and reappear as a side button, of course being a smaller button.

3D Retina Display Actually, probably not in the next generation, but somewhere down the line eventually when 3D displays drastically improve.

DPI has nothing to do with whether something is a hologram. A hologram is an image captured in such a way that you can view it from multiple angles as if it was a 3D object. There are already iPhone apps that use the accelerometers to achieve a holographic effect. However, there is really no reason to want it for everything you see on the phone.

The whole point of the retina display is that there is no reason to increase the resolution any more than that because the human eye can't tell any difference anyway (unless the screen gets bigger).

I'm just curious about the iPhone 6... Do you guys think it will shoot lasers out of the cameras and kill all the android fan bois?

like Apple stated, any resolution over what they have would be pointless because its increased density would be impossible for the human eye to notice

the only real improvement they could make would be to create some sort of OLED Retina Display (not everyone would call that an improvement)

Id bet Apple is working on an OLED that works well in sunlight
and knowing them, they wont release it until they perfect it

I would like to see the screen size move up to 3.7" from 3.5"
and yes, it does make a difference for me. I'm losing my eyesight....lol

Aside from the general upgrades of CPU, ram and storage, I would guess the addition of "LTE" "4G" type radio in the next iPhone would be the "big" upgrade. If they move to VZW and/or Sprint I could see this being the hook for the next iPhone.

I really hope not. I'm already sick of all this gimmicky 3D ****. Until content is actually designed around a 3D interface that is easily usable, Apple won't do it and frankly I don't want to use it.

That said, if you look back through some of Apples desktop anology patents, you might be in for a pleasant surprise if 3D is your thing. ;)
