What will happen to my album art?

With the new iPhone 4 and the resolution bumping up twice as much will the album art look pixelated at 500x500 or 600x600? Will Apple bump up the specs? I really don't want to update 500 albums that I have to higher quality album art files. I hope they look like they do now still.

they will not be pixelated. they will be crisper.

there will be 4 pixels on the iPhone 4 for every 1 pixel on the 3G and 3GS.

Right. If they're low-rez they'll pretty much look the same.
If they're high-rez then they'll look better.


It'll be one of those two things. They might not look better, but they won't look worse.

I would think the Artwork Apple provides with songs you buy from iTunes will be good to go. But if you find your own Artwork via 3rd Party sites you might wanna make sure you use good res size. I usually always find at least a 500x500 image for my Artwork.

This actually really pisses me off about my iPad. I wish that screen just didn't exist, and you just controlled the iPod through the main iTunes screen only. Sorry for that little rant. 😛

I agree. I hate how it goes to full screen without asking. I always put it back to list view. It should be the other way around...if you want full screen artwork then tap on the little album in the bottom corner.
