All you have to do is NOT upgrade to the next macOS. It’s that simple. Anchor yourself in the past, stop progressing, your current Mac and macOS will probably keep working for a few more years. Buh bye.

Sounds like you are the one that can't wait to move into the post-apocalyptic future... some of us actually like stuff that works. Buh bye to you.

Phil Schiller says the check is in the mail.

If I have to stop using Office 2011 on those rare occasions when nothing else will work, I stop using the Mac. It's that simple.

OS X added 64 bit support in 2007, with the last 32-bit Mac being sold in 2011. The writing has been on the wall for 12 years.

I'm surprised it took this long.

Anything but Clovis, Fresno, or Manteca.

macOS Oakland, coming right up

I think the full Joshua Tree album would make a great start-up sound.

MacOS Millennials. With a big Tim Cook picture as wallpaper.

MacOS Bakersfield?

Skyline should be fairly popular amongst the hoons.

Mac OS Fisher Price.

It's already dumbed down joke of what it was intended to be when it was launched. It's no longer a tool to aid workflow and production.

When half of your user base don't know how to do basic tasks from within the OS, needing third rate Applications to do simple things like Copy & Paste or basic file management.

Who cares. I'll never use it. This is the one that arbitrarily makes all my "unoptimised" applications no longer work, right?
So it should be called "Death Valley"!

Having plenty of warning is one thing. Having decent replacement apps with the functionality of the legacy 32 bit apps is another matter. It seems that everything has gone the way of Microsoft - flashy, bloated software that is difficult to use and, when you do manage to get through the UI you find the feature is not available or is not suitable:
Sirius Cybernetics Corporation: "it is very easy to be blinded to the essential uselessness of them by the sense of achievement you get from getting them to work at all. In other words - and this is the rock solid principle on which the whole of the Corporation's Galaxy-wide success is founded - their fundamental design flaws are completely hidden by their superficial design flaws" (written by Douglas Adams in 1984 )
