I'm sure the ones announced Thursday will look identical to the current MacBook (what you posted above). They will just be thicker, more powerful, and have more ports. They will also have the new features: touchID, OLED touch panel, etc.

No, they will follow the same design language but they will be different. If you're talking about the 13" MacBook, then it will look very similar to the 12".

right... assuming that image is accurate. we'll know in about 32 hours...
The image is accurate.

so the MacBook with a few changes, what I said :p
Not at all, that's a completely different machine. The keyboard mechanism being the same doesn't mean "identical". The whole device is different and not in the style of the MacBook, but you'll see for yourself when they're announced. If you're talking from the perspective of the design language, then you're right.

I am hoping for a same day release or some display set up a day or two after at any store so I can get a hands on approach for these. If they aren't worth the hype I will be snagging a rMB instead as I already love the design of these. I just want to see if the extra screen real estate is worth the price as well as this OLED bar.

the theory is... compared to the current MBP: it's thinner, lighter. OLED bar. new keyboard, speakers. usb-C, plus...? it's real appeal over the rMB should be power: more power, speed, ram... better graphics card.
