I think they'll drop the 5C line, keep the next one as the iPhone 6 (maybe with a slightly larger screen) and then have a phablet (god, I hate that word with a passion) iPhone with a different name.

iPhone Air (4" display)
iPhone Pro (~5" display)
iPhone mini (plastic, 3.5-4" display)

This way Apple can satisfy all - big screen for video & gaming, portability and even entry level.

C is done. You won't see that again. Apple doesn't want the cheap stereotype again.

The "c" line isn't done. Apple just is t going to use plastic anymore. There's still going to be 3 tiers of phones and they are still going to release a "flagship" and a "mid-tier."

Honestly they may do away with the "s" line too and the number line too. However there will still be an iPhone there with "last years specs" and as long as it's in a damn metal case no one will downgrade it like you do the iPhone 5C because GOD himself knows that it is getting very old!!!

It may be possible that they drop the way the 5c was made with the plastic and all, but it's possibly they still use "C." They can do colors with aluminum as well.

For some reason if they release it in aluminum I have a feeling people won't bit h and moan about it as much even with "last years specs."

I'm gonna say iPhone 6 unless it gets thinner/lighter then the current 5 series then Air. I really don't see that happening though.

I'm thinking that if they make a bigger screen without increasing energy requirements, the next iPhone might be significantly thinner.

maybe they'll drop the number scheme and just go with "new iPhone" like they did with the iPad.

I think so too just like the call their Macs. " late 2014 macbook pro"
so i will be "late 2014 iPhone"

iPad Air was a mistake w/o a regular or iPad Pro in comparison. I'm puzzled at the rep at Apple that comes up with these names.

wtf is an ipad pro

I was merely saying that the naming is a little off. There is iPad Air and iPad Mini. But what about the regular sized iPad or iPad Pro in this gen. It was premature to pull out the Air moniker, because the iPad line now has:

iPad 2
iPad Air
iPad Mini

... nevermind

I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense, no hate lol

I think they'll sell the numbered models (4, 5, 6, etc.) for one year as the latest model, and change them to "C"s once the "S" model comes out. Next year, the "C" model will become the oldest model, and the year after that, the cycle will start all over. Here's the iPhone lineup for now until 2017 :p

The current lineup:
5S
5C
4S
Fall 2014:
6
5S
5C
Fall 2015:
6S
6C
5S
Fall 2016:
7
6S
6C
Fall 2017:
7S
7C
6S

Do away with the C since nobody wants that crap anyway and go with

iPhone 5s - 4" w/last year's specs will replace the current C model
iPhone 6 - 4.5"
iPhone 6xl - 5"

win win for everybody. That way if you still want the 4 inch form factor you opt for the older model 5s, while the 6 and 6xl will feature all the new goodies. The cost of production is down plus you can push more sales to the next generation line while still carrying the 5s at a premium price tag.

the next/this years 5c model is going to be called 5s. 5C is going straight to history dumpyard.
