Let’s assume you can single, double, triple, and long press it. Could be a bit overly optimistic.

Personally:
  • Single: play/pause
  • Double: Launch camera
  • Triple: Launch notes (maybe?)
  • Long: connect to AirPods Pro

Activate Remote Climate Control in my Tesla to cool it in the summer, and to warm it in the winter.

Do not disturb - until I leave this location. Hopefully this will be available and will be much more useful than the old flip switch, which I pretty much always forgot to disable until someone couldn't reach me or I missed a notification.

i enable flight mode every night, so i guess that would be something. but likely double press, since single press can be activated too easily.

i often accidentally enable the flashlight on the lock screen. i wish i could remove it from there and activate it with a long press on the action button.

I hope the button is depressed and concave (like the old home button), otherwise there will be occasional accidental presses, just as there are now with the current iPhone, which depending on the action assigned, could be disastrous. The Watch Ultra action button is partially depressed and concave, but I think on a phone, it would have to be more since a phone is handled and has objects pressed against it in pockets and purses constantly.

Assuming it’s designed with that in mind—
Single: camera picture mode
Double: camera video mode
Triple: maybe lock/unlock car (if within certain range)
Long: maybe open all windows in car (if within certain range)

Side note- I can never get to the camera fast enough. With the current swipe from Lock Screen method, I often end up swiping away notifications instead. And once in the camera app, I’m often fumbling trying to get to video mode. And often by then, the moment I wanted to capture has passed.

Long: connect to AirPods Pro
I have Beats Flex which has similar connect functionality, and IMO, a shortcut wouldn’t be necessary if they (and all Apple headphones) would just be consistent about showing the “connect” button in the pop up window on your device screen whenever you turn on (or put in your ear) the headphones. It’s so aggravating that it seemingly randomly decides when to show you the button, and it usually doesn’t show it.
