"Welcome To Macintosh"

Not sure which system that was under, but it appeared on startup while the Extensions loaded.

Come to think of it, just the word "Macintosh" makes me nostalgic. It seems that these days it's just called a "Mac".

I think the "Welcome to Macintosh" message was from Mac OS 7.1 up to 8.1? or 7.6.

When anyone mentions a computer I think of the Mac...but, there are some words when mentioned remind me of the good old days:

Unexpected error (Bomb)
Disk Tools (Disk First Aid, Drive Setup)
Extensions/Control Panels
Apple Menu Items/Chooser
Holding Shift @ Startup
Print Shop Deluxe, Easy Color Paint, & Reader Rabbit Math/Reading
ADB/SCSI/Serial...misc. old connections

And although they aren't words who can forget the Happy Mac and Startup chime! :D

... Print Shop Deluxe ...
Whoa! Printing banners on the Apple IIgs!!
And although they aren't words who can forget the Happy Mac and Startup chime! :D
If the chime is taken out of the x86 Macs, I won't buy one. It was insulting enough when the happy Mac face was taken out!

Print Shop Deluxe
Claris Works
Extensions
ImageWriter (remember the old dot matrix printers?)
68k
bomb

Sounds:

Eep
The old old startup sound
The sound the floppy drive made when you ejected a disk. (always loved that about Macs)

Our whimical litte guy, Happy Mac
Chooser
Stylewriter
Extensions Manager
Woz

And, of course,
"To create a new standard it takes something that's not just a little bit different. It takes something that's really new and really captures people's imagination. And the Macintosh, of all the machines I've ever seen, is the only one that meets that standard.

You can get it as a back drop for Avi's backdrop for the Newton. Then you have the smiley Mac with on the go! :D

The Quack sound
EEP
Dark Castle
Déja Vu
KidPix :)

Incidentally, I found an old Classic II in a store cupboard at work. It brought back many happy memorys! My mum used to borrow them from work - carrying them home in a backpack on her bike :)

Plugged it in and it still works - and boots up quicker than my new(ish)PC!
