from Europe....more vacation weeks. not days....but weeks.

north americans are generally such a stressed out, overworked bunch....Europeans have it great with the vacations.

As long as we could keep our healthcare system going properly, we'd probably be better with more vacations.

or.... would we get even more greedy and want more vacations?????

To the US:

Comprehensive train system across the states, country, and through out North America.

Metric system

Roundabout blerbage:
They've been adding more roundabouts here (northern colorado). They actually reduce fatalities by 60% (Sorry...stats by my civil engineer buddy, but he had quoted someone.) The fender benders are a result of people unfamiliar with them.

Yes, roundabouts require a brain and eyes.

None here in Japan. Just zillions of damn traffic lights. Despite the necessity of having to brake every 100m there are still dorks that drive 5-litre Mercs. Another

I hate rotaries/roundabouts. Although more efficient they are so much more dangerous....

Unless your are in ireland where they have stoplights in their rotaries. I don't get it- why not just make a round about. When I was in Ireland a "Lorry shed it's load" on a roundabout and caused a huge delay.

Roundabouts are fantastic, they should be used everywhere. They're much more efficient, and I think they're safer than cross roads. Theres not much chance of a head on collision on a round about. You're all going the same way. And its not just ireland that has traffic light on their round abouts. A roundabout near me with 4 exits, has 8 sets of lights on it. Its a tiny roundabout.

Im suprised no-one from out of the US has said they'd bring an iPhone, but maybe this is more of a deeper conversation. Im quite happy with everything I have here. Maybe I'd bring a little more sunshine for our summer from somewhere.

From the south of France, I would bring back:

  • The beaches (even though I live in Santa Barbara, the clothing is too much here :p)
  • The wonderful pace of life (no Irish restaurant speed for me, thank you)
  • The 9 weeks of vacation I had at my job there
  • Obviously, the food
  • People saying hello and goodbye when you are in their stores

And last but not least, a new anchorwoman to read me the news:

What I would bring back to the US-
- The Zillion year old history of Europe (its so cool)
- In Ireland at restaurants they ask you what you want like 30 seconds after you sit down and bring it out very quickly, unlike the US where you sit down, wait 10 minutes, then order, and 1/2hr later you get your food.
- Land Rover Defenders
- Tesco :)

Tesco is already here in CA.

Hows about... the good mexican food from mexico. Here in Denver you can get some darn good mexican food, but I want more more more! And maybe a few more hispanic girls...;)
