I would buy the one that best one that fits both the needs of my usage and the needs of my pocket book.

If you are asking us to make your decision for you what's the point? None of us know you or your needs. Good luck. I have a 15" rMBP so that's my answer for me and my needs.

15" rMBP or 15" cMBP with SSD upgrade, depending on your needs. I'm a sucker for a larger screen though.

No I decided against the hi res. I was afraid the text would be too small for comfort. I guess if you read my other comments you already know that I'll be using a Dell U2713HM 90% of the time. So when I will be away from my desk it'll be for short periods of time. Besides I had a 2010 MBP and I always felt it had a beautiful screen.

I have the 2012 cmbp with high resolution anti-glare screen, I upgraded (with this one you can!) the ram and the hdd for ssd with parts bought elsewhere. The retina seems an amazing machine but the cmbp suits my needs more!:)
