24 hours later and I might have to have the battery in the replacement iPhone replaced. It will not charge past 80%.
Hmm. I think some replaced items are refurbished, but I wouldn’t think a recent one like an iPhone X would be. I could be wrong though.

They’ll sort you out anyway. Hope you haven’t already put a screen on it.

The box it comes in will indicate if it's new or not. If it came in an unmarked box, it's a refurb.

I had a defect in my iPhone 4s some years ago. I took it to an Apple Store for a repair. They gave me a refurb instead.
 
Lol. I was reading the thread (before your above reply) & was about to post that you may end up with a new device as that’s what happened to me when I went in store to make use of the iPhone 6s battery recall - the adhesive on the battery would’ve ripped out other components, so they just replaced the phone for free.

This is the service we pay for.

Is it brand new or Apple refurbished?
