So I purchased a 15 inch late 2008 mac book pro

2.8 intel
SSD
4 gig ram.
fully loaded...
Not the 7 hour battery.

Dog spilled water all over it when she was home alone :( Dropped it off to apple and had them send it out and get fixed. While I was waiting I decided to pic up a new 13 macbook pro.

got the 2.53 fully loaded...

So now I have both... Which one would you keep? The 15 inch cost $1,300.00 to fix and they replaced almost everything. Would consider it brand new.

Which one would you keep?
Thanks for your help!

If you keep the MBP 13:

1. Sell the 15" on ebay
2. Sell the 15" on CL

Pick the one that net the least lost.

If you keep the MBP 15"

1. Sell the 13" on ebay
2. Sell the 13" on CL
3. Return it and bite the restocking fee.

Again pick the one that net the least lost.

I would go with Keeping your 15" and returning the 13" and bite the restocking fee.

Can't return 13 since I got it on craigslist. Money not a huge issue but it's a big enough issue not to keep both.

I miss wrote the first post... Meant to ask which one would you keep.

What do you use it/them for? Because personally, if it were me, I'd choose the 13" and sell the 15", but that's just because I find the 15" too big for my liking.

In the end, it's your decision.

I run vmware... Do website design... minor video editing... I do like the 13 for a few reasons. Battery is great. It's more portable and I like how the screen isn't as heavy and stays up freely without closing. LOL. Guess just looking for some closure before I make a final decision.

What I would do is keep the 15" since it suits my needs better and sell 13".

I'd also get rid of the dog an get a cat since dogs su©k while cats rule ^_^

Best advise ever;

I got the 13 before I decided to fix the 15. Didn't want to fix it but it just doesn't make since to have a $3,000.00 paper weight.

Can't believe all the dog haters. Trust me... My first thought was this f@cking dog is gone, but...

P.S. Cats are GARBAGE!

Big question,

Why would you leave such a valuable item out on the coffee table?

Maybe because you have money to burn? :D

Next time put it away

Sell one, keep the other. Or just return the 13" and pay the restocking fee...after all you have the money :D

Because thats where I do most of my work. If I had money to burn I wouldn't be trying to sell one. My life is on a computer I can't be without for more than a couple of days. I love people like you... Brave behind a keyboard... Not just you... A few others on this thread too. Thanks for the advice. Decision has been made.

not as bad as you, behavior here reflects somewhat real world behavior; I didn't swear you did. Who's more brave behind a keyboard, huh?

Most people don't have a over a grand to buy a computer and then pay over a grand to fix one as well.

also, I wouldn't leave the computer out with a dog in the room

Wow, the computer is your life, how pathetic

Look at the refurbished price, your old one is not even worth the $1300!

Buy the new one for yourself. Sell the old one and fully disclose what has happened. People love and will pay far too much for a Mac they can fix up over time. I would bet you will get close to half refurbished pricing of what one is like new.

Plus, most of the time water damage can be totally fixed by drying out the Mac after taking it completely apart and letting dry for a few weeks or even a month. Would be surprised if only water what time and not turning it on while being impatient will allow it to recover from.

Good luck.
