I just got the iPhone 14 Pro Max and I’m a bit underwhelmed by the dynamic island.

I thought it would be more useful and cooler than it is.

I would have liked to see notifications be displayed in it rather than the banner.

What would you like to see in future variations of the dynamic island?

I believe Apple won't do anything related to something as essential as notifications until the entire iPhone lineup is using the Dynamic Island.

I also got the iPhone 14 Pro Max a few days ago and I’m quite disappointed by the Dynamic Island. I barely even notice that it’s there most of the time.

It’s really not as cool as it was advertised. So far all I saw from it is some niche animations with Face ID, switching to silent or ring mode, controlling music playlists, phone calls or when using AirDrop. It’s simply just a “more animated” notch, that’s it.

Even though I’d mainly hope they remove it completely and replace it with a punch hole (like most Android phones) I still kinda hope they add more to it and make it at least more useful. Probably some notifications or shortcuts that would make it easier to get to some apps or something. Though the fact that it’s at the top makes it harder to get to, especially when you’re using the phone with one hand.

And it also contains the front camera, so touching this area constantly doesn’t even sound like a good idea as it’d lead to getting the front camera dirty lol. So yeah it’s mostly quite useless in my opinion.
