You have to admit that a platypus sitting in a chair with aluminum arm rests talking pretentiously about salt would be pretty awesome entertainment. You could maybe give him a little monocle and top hat....
cool animals, but not a particularly good idea to have them as a pet, and most likely illegal. they are semi-aquatic so they need a particular habitat (like a pond) and it is true that they have venomous stingers (only the males, though)

Only the males. I'll just make sure to flip the thing over and take a look before I take it home with me.
Only the males are poisonous. There has been Zero fatalities from the poison, but the wound swells and hurts really badly. I've also heard that painkillers do not really help. So you're left to suffer.
Your advice was six years too late. The OP is no longer with us due to numerous bites from his new pet. The poison built up so much....he just slipped away.....

That's what I called my platypus, but I don't think people liked it very much because they were always suggesting new names for some reason!

Since they lay eggs and produce milk it only seems fitting to call it Custard.
