Mine would be:
- size of the iPhone 15 Pro
- one single camera lens with AI magic for zoom photos
- rounded corners like the iPhones of the past
- 120Hz ProMotion
- two day battery life
- light weight from having one single camera lens
- vibrant color options (like the iPhone 5C)
- dynamic island
- built in retractable pop socket thingy to make it even easier to hold and use as a vertical or horizontal stand
- MagSafe

What would yours be if you were to make your perfect iPhone?

Pick any current hardware specs you like, as long as it can make phone calls, take a picture, send email and text messages, and browse the internet. I am not using my phone as a substitute for other dedicated devices.

That said…

A phone that looks like the iPhone 5 (without the home button), but in a size between the largest Pro Max and the iPad Mini.

As far as design the same as the 11 Pro Max with the rounded sides. Made out of aluminum or plastic to keep weight down.

The one thing I want but will never get is the on screen Home button. I don’t like physical home buttons and I don’t like the gestures even more.

I’d probably choose a size between an 11 pro and 11 pro max, with that shape, aluminum to keep it light, full screen (no notch or island), and current specs.

A perfect iPhone would have the same great cameras we have today, but without a camera bump (not really possible, I know). I would love much better optical zoom capabilities, I'm not a photographer by any mean but this is the thing that bothers me the most with iPhone cameras right now. Probably a lighter iPhone, with a USB-C/Thunderbolt port.

I would love the phone to support wireless charging for Apple Watch and AirPods (one can only dream), dynamic island but with FaceID hardware completely under the screen, better battery life, maybe a TouchID sensor as a second biometric authentification system. Size-wise, I'd take something smaller than a 14PM but bigger than a 14 Pro. I personally love the stainless steel finish, but I'll see what magic apple can do with titanium. I prefer flat edges, and I think I would love a modernized version of iPhone 5S (which was the best iPhone design IMO). In the near future, I'd maybe want a foldable iPhone, but I don't see the need for now.

That's on the hardware front, but I have a few software improvements, like a universal notification center, better communication with Android via iMessages and just a longer software support in general (I would love to get 8-10 years of software support).

Honestly all of those features are nice to have, but I think the iPhone is a very mature product and there is nothing major missing in recent phones.

1 - 14 Pro Max height and width and weight no greater than now.

2 - Weight ideally lighter maybe due to some really nice looking back that was a lot lighter than glass but still allowed wireless charging and looked premium.

3 - Everything front-facing under the screen so no notches, punch-holes or lozenge-shaped cutouts.

4 - A flat back somehow. I've no idea if that is optically impossible if any half-decent lens system is to be fitted in but that would still be my dream. I'd be perfectly happy for the overall body to get 1mm or maybe even up to 2mm thicker if that could get rid of the lens projections and if some non-glass back saved enough weight to compensate for any weight gain from a thicker phone.

5 - At least double the current battery life, three times would be even better. That might even be possible in a few years since solid state batteries seem to be getting closer to being mass-producible albeit at about 2x to 3x the cost of current Lithium Ion batteries. Also a slightly thicker main body to get rid of camera bumps could help battery life by allowing a physically bigger battery.

6 - A minimum of 6 x optical zoom or some amazing high-res low-noise sensor that could give something like a 10x digital zoom with no loss of quality vs a 6x optical zoom then digitally zoomed to 10x.

7 - Parasitic charging so that if I was in a real emergency I could charge my Apple Watch or earbuds from my phone without needing to go and buy or borrow the necessary charger (particularly difficult and tedious if you forget to pack an Apple Watch charger). I wouldn't use that much but it would be comforting to know I always had a flexible wireless charger with me just in case, especially if my wish 5 above meant that my iPhone really was effectively also a pretty huge power bank (that is easily recharged with any USB-C cable).

Today it looks pretty certain that I'll get my wish 1 above and also almost certainly wish 6 as well, at least for the Pro Max that I'll be buying. I'm also hoping that although I don't expect to get the sort of step-change in battery life that I'm dreaming of in my wish 5 above I am cautiously optimistic that this year will be another very good year in terms of increases in battery life (at least a 15% increase for 15 Pro Max battery life vs the current 14PM) so maybe in a few hours I'll also have seen at least some progress on my wish 5 as well.

About the size of an AirTag. But it has a virtual display similar to a hologram or something, as well as the usual A/V inputs and outputs. Probably won't see it for another decade or so...

What would yours be if you were to make your perfect iPhone?

a periscope similar to Samsung ""MOON ZOOM""
way better Marco lens
no camera bump
GLASS with no bezels and no "dynamic island"

PORTLESS
MAGSAFE 3.0 (35W+ CHARGING)
MAGSAFE (DOESNT HEAT PHONE)
MAGSAFE "thunderbolt" transfer speeds 40GB+
2 day battery life

Dream IPhone? You guys need more imagination.

1. Week-long+ battery life with instantaneous charging speeds.

2. Low earth satellite texting and phone calls to anyone at any time. This will happen someday.

3. 1 inch sensors for the cameras with 100x optical zoom.

4. Shatterproof glass. Metal back - for durability - I don’t care about wireless charging.

5. Underscreen camera and Face ID.

6. Secondary security option - Touch ID. I’d prefer it on the power button.

7. Ability to hook it up to a computer monitor and have macOS on it with access to iCloud and all Mac software.

8. A Siri that has more ChatGPT level intelligence.

9. Capable of taking 3d - vision pro - video and photos for VR

10. Make the phone WaterPROOF and guarantee the hardware so we can use it in the ocean and underwater.

I could go on…

-Grab the Google Pixel Fold size, and turn it into an iPhone. I think that is my perfect size and have the ability to have a "mini tablet" for specific work tasks on the go
-Battery lasts a week at least
-Enough CPU and RAM power to match the current iPhone 14 Pro (very happy with the speed and smoothness)
-Camera -I am ok have a reduction as long as it goes back to begin flat (no bump)
-Titanium for durability and lightness
-Keep magsafe - I actually really like the feature

I think that should do it.

Why? Wouldn't you rather have an under-display selfie cam and a borderless fullscreen display?

If we are talking ideals, I want the retractable display thingy from sci-fi shows that I can make tablet-size whenever I need it. That is at least until we get an eyePhone.

a little dirty, slightly scuffed up on the edges. Maybe my sticker on the back.
sometimes nude, sometimes in the clear apple case.
Not afraid of scratches, so just using it. To whatever it's hardware can give me.
I don't think flip just yet because I believe I would destroy that screen.
Yeah make it titanium so shes strong and lightweight, color doesn't matter much, but leaning matte black.
I think thats about it.
Oh, and allow me to remove or move the flashlight and camera buttons on the lock screen, a must.

Mini size, all-alloy, no camera bump, underclocked for excellent battery life AND A FREAKING HEADPHONE JACK.

The vast majority of iPhone owners don’t push these processors anywhere near their limits so an exchange of power for longevity would be very welcome.
