I need a simple app where I can do following:

– choose the size of the image
– add text to the image
– center the text on the image
– make the background transparent (and basically just have the text over the transparent layer)

I have "You Doodle" on my iPad which can do all of these basically, except centering the text on the image. Which is very important to me. You can move text around in You Doodle, but you can't center the text box precisely like you can with stuff in Pages for example.

I'm looking for a free app, but if it's 1€ I'll survive it I guess…

If you're exporting to PDF then it can be any size you like. Edit your PDF in Photoshopo or somewhere else to set the size and save as an image file.

You can definitely change opacity. I'm on my iPad at the moment and it is done by Format > Style > Style Options > Opacity.

The opacity changes just the opacity of the background? I need the text to have no opacity at all. And I don't have photoshop, that's the point, if I had photoshop I would do everything there. :)

And for the size, it's too complicated to have a finished document, and resize it afterwards. I need to have an image size set and only then add text to it, not the other way around. That would become a big mess otherwise haha.

That's right - select the item to change its opacity.

If you're saving an A4 page then it's 210mmx297mm and so on, or 8.3x11.7 inches. That means it's about 3000px wide at 300ppi, so just set your page size accordingly.

You can always take a screenshot if you prefer. You know your image size by your screen size and can resize the window accordingly.
