What's a good IM client these days?

I go back and forth between IM+ and BeejiveIM, though I picked up both of those when I got my first gen iPad back in 1876 or whenever it came out. I use Trillian on OSX (and really, really wish the developer of both it and the iOS version would actually care about their products and update things timely) but I was wondering if, in the two years since the original iPad was released, there are some better IM clients now. Better as in stable and "visually appealing" — BeejiveIM looks nicer than IM+, but both of them have been hit with the ugly stick.

Mandatory for me is that it needs to support AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber (and ideally also Skype), push notices and so forth. Retina support would also be nice.

I don't care about price vs free (I'd rather a paid app, actually.) I just want something functional and appealing to look at/use. Is there anything new or am I still stuck with the two apps I already have right now?
