I just need one to make programs for Mac OS X and iPod Touch/iPhone.
Mac Mini, probably. It's on the Apple site.
Yes the Mac Mini is the cheapest you'll find on Apple's website, but it is expected that they will be updated in the next couple months so if you can you might want to hold off on your purchase.
BTW if you're looking for a computer or Mac it might help to mention so in your OP.
OK, But what will be updated?
The processor, the GPU, the hard drive size, the RAM might be, the I/O, and maybe even the case.
I always thought it meant "original poster". I guess it's pretty much the same thing.
As long as it can do what I want it to do then it'll be good enough.
Just a quick note: if you buy a refurb/used Mac mini, make sure it's one with an intel processor and not a PowerPC G4.
In case you only see the computer itself (not booted, no box, etc):
- 2 USB ports = PowerPC G4
- 4 USB ports = intel processor (might be anything from a Core Solo to a Core 2 Duo).
I believe it's both depending on the context it's used in. At least that's how I understood it.
