What's been your biggest beef with 2012 MBAs? For me it's Magsafe 2...

my 2012 is just great. No issues at all. Smooth fast, and very stable i have had nothing but a very good experience.

But then again i'm not looking to pick it apart, something that some people do just because they can.

There is no perfect computer, the key is to just deal with whatever comes up, and then enjoy your new mac. It's a computer, there are always little things here and there. It's just part of it. :)

+1

Your intentions are great.

However here's a friendly heads up: we are not allowed to "+1" in this forum.

Here's where it says so in the rules:

Things Not to Do
These habits can produce warnings and repeated violations can produce bans.

Entry #2.) Useless and one-word posts. Do not bother making posts with only one or two words (e.g., "cool" or LOL) or a smilie, or post simply to have the first reply in a thread. Such posts waste everyone's time and will be deleted. Posts saying "I agree", "+1", "this", "me too", or the equivalent are also routinely removed, so don't post them.

I'm very happy with my 13" Air.

It's not really a Beef, TBH I don't even if I really need it but I always upgrade because it's cheap. My sister's Mid-2010 27" i3 iMac has 12GB of RAM and does less than I do.

I was disappointed when it posted that you can no longer DIY upgrade the RAM. I use Safari, VLC, iTune, FrostWire, QuickTime to Trim Videos and Handbrake. 4GB is more than enough right?

I've had Macs for 11 years now. This is my first "laptop" MBA 11". regarding Magsafe 2, Can we first of all look at the alternative. That is..EVERY other manufacturer!!..... I cant understand all the negative comments....What a revelation, Magsafe ( any ANY, design ) is..... Think about all the "Others".. DOnt like MS2?......... buy the Adapter..!!!! deal with it and move on.....

Apple make the best Products in the world.... We have a saying in Australia, called "The tall poppie syndrome" it means, Anything we Love and Hale as the best, we feel the need to tear down. Just so "It/them" dont get too big for their boots.......

Apologise's for the Rant..... Enjoy the Mac for what it "Bring's":apple::apple::apple:

Well by that logic we'd all be eating what the government tells us to eat, drive cars the car manufacturers tell us to buy, and do whatever companies want us to do. We live in a free market system where if companies (Compusa, Circuit City, Montgomery Ward, etc..) want to stay in business, they MUST listen to the consumer. For you to say we should shut up and be thankful we have a magsafe adaptor is like saying "oh you found a cellular dead spot? You should be thankful you have a cell phone at all" ... while no product is perfect, it's very normal to speak out (ESPECIALLY in a forum DESIGNED for speaking out) about what we like and dislike about a product. If you don't want to read people discussing issues, maybe you should head on out of the form entitled "What's your beed with the MacBook Air?" ... jeez.

Am i the only one who doesnt have any issue with the Magsafe 2??

granted this is my first mac so i have no prior experience with any mag safes

my magnet seems pretty stong, and ive never accidentally disconnected it

Same here. No problem whatsoever.

If anything, the Magsafe on my 2012 Air seems too strong. I'm not certain it would detach when needed to avoid an accident.

I think there is some variability in the strength of the magnet (as would be expected given mass production). Also, it definitely does disconnect more easily than the 2011 design. I think the issue for people is that with 2011 you could rest the notebook in your lap and be unlikely to disconnect the cable. The new connector is a bit bigger, and it is easier to hit it with a hand or leg, knocking it loose.

My experience has been opposite of the OPs

My new MBA 13" has such a strong magnet in the MagSafe connector that it is difficult to get it to disengage.
