What's better/faster to get more storage - USB 3.0 micro pendrive, or SDXC mini drive? rMBP 13''

Hi guys
I've just bought my new rMBP 13'' 2014 with 128 gb ssd and I'm wondering about it's future and free storage space. 128 gb isn't much by any means, but I'm a light user so I hope it'll be sufficient for me. But:

Which thing is better in terms of speed?

What do you think about the most important thing - speed?

Well they are all different you'll have to buy on the read/write speeds advertised.

SD cards max out about 100mb/sec and some of the faster USB drives run at 245mb/sec but aren't slimline.

To be honest if you just use it for storing video photos or music the speed isn't that important

I had a SD card expansion in my old rMBP which I used for photos, music, documents and other things like that.
If you do not plan to have anything more demanding it will do fine

I just got this: Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB Portable External Hard Drive for Mac with Mobile Device Backup USB 3.0 (STDS4000400) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AC5C04G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_pJypxb066NCK1

I create 4K videos and just used one minute of drone coverage in After Effects and this drive loaded the video with great speed.
