What's engraved on your iPod?

Can you explain that? I don't think it's a stupid question, just before someone says/thinks it 😉 ... but from this side of the atlantic, maybe I'm the only one but don't get it ... Kudos to you if you can do that... 😛

Oh, one thing not to get. Please do not get your iPod engraved with "BOB", even if your name is Robert. Apparently this can be terribly misunderstood and have radical consequences. (Pictures sad, sad, sight of iPod floating down from 40k feet with no parachute).

Just ordered a 4G 20GB model with my name engraved on the back. Due to ship on or before 18th August, with all the goods. Case, remote, In-ear headphones, dock. The accessories get the price quite high...
One would think that standard Apple fonts (those on the most recent Mac's) would be allowed. That would allow for symbols.

I was going to engrave it, but then ended up buying it locally instead of via store.apple.com (wanted to be sure it was here on time). I know I can get it engraved elsewhere, but I don't think it'll look as cool as the laser engraving from Apple.
BTW, G4-power, just a question: since you bought the dock, the price difference to go up to the 40GB was only $60 (since the 40 includes a dock). May I ask why you didn't do it? Too much $$, or do you prefer the slimness of the 20?

What's happened to all the accessories on the new iPods? I'm going to want to upgrade to 40 (or maybe 60😉) At christmastime, and give my 20GB to my little bro, 'cos my library is too big for it now! But I like all the acessories that came with it and use them all!! Case, remote, dock... why aren't they in the new iPod?

When the 15 GB line was dropped when changing to the 4G, they changed the prices dropped 100 bucks off the 20 and 40 GB. BUT, at the same time they dropped the case, remote and dock (that makes 120 bucks) and included the 20 buck USB cable. That rounds off to a 0 buck price drop. Nice marketing skills, but I would've liked it if they really dropped the prices.

But my next one is going to say,
"Imagination is more important than knowledge - Einstein"
This quote fits with the philosophy behind the ipod, music and art, and apple. A philosophy I stand by as well. 😀
As there is very little that can be accomplished beyond the mediocre without imagination. No matter what you know.
