I guess these discussions, sometimes petty, are why we love having options, right?
I am a 40 mi/week runner / trail runner and admittedly an Apple Fanboy, owning most of the most recent AW models, including my current AW Ultra 2.
Anyone who says they are built like a toy is just trolling and trying to bolster their point. That's fine if that's your purpose, but it's also a ridiculous thing to say.
All that said, it's also ridiculous that the Apple Watch Ultra specifically is labeled as such when it is not. I have a Garmin 965 that I use because the Apple Watch is notoriously incomplete to be called an ultra watch. I love it, but it has limitations that are 'frustrating'.
Sure, you can supplement your watch with apps, but anyone who uses them for any amount of time and cares about data and recovery will realize that it sucks to have 3 or 4 apps doing the thing that one watch can do.
I love my 965. But after workouts, it's back to the AWU2 for everyday life. That is my experience. I guess I am lucky enough to have both!
Cheers all!
