What's in my school backpack [2k14]

why do you guys carry the phone in the backpack? shouldn't it go in your pocket?

I put my iPhone in my bag especially when I'm in class. Some professors get really mad when they see a student holding a phone or even if it's just on the table. My friend had a call from her mom and she completely forgot to set the phone on silent, oh my gosh, he got so mad, he asked her to leave class. And I had my phone confiscated from me by a professor once.

Backpack: LL Bean super deluxe backpack.

As for tech I carry around my iPad Air and iPhone 5C (gosh I can't wait for the iPhone 6!) and sometimes my 15" rMBP. Aside from that, my backpack will hold various textbooks, binders, notebooks, pencils, pens, a water bottle and my lunch.

What about pens, binders, paper, a calculator? I just graduated last year and we were still using all those ancient tools :D

Those things are so obsolete. Now it's Chromebooks, iPads, and laptops. People who still have those handheld graphing calculators are usually from the 1990s. Only the old students and instructors still run around with bookbags filled with papers, binders, calculators, chalk, whiteboard markers, compasses, rulers, and pens and pencils. Many students are forgetting how to write with a pen, as almost everything is done on a computer screen now.

Thax to my Samsonite Luggage Vizair Laptop Backpack

Hi, av just completed my Computer Science and Engineering degree, but i'll share what i carried in my backpack to and fro university. Always in my Samsonite Luggage Vizair Laptop Backpack are:
  • My 15" Asus laptop
  • 2 large computer networking textbooks plus handouts
  • My home and car keys
  • 2 water bottles
  • iphone,ipad,mini Dp to HDMI & VGA adaptor,USB adaptor,cables and cords,pens,ruler and calculator.
  • Extra clothes as i sometimes passed through the gym.

Imagine all these in one compact laptop backpack that is comfortable to carry around. I would recomend it to anyone with alot of stuff to carry to and fro school, college or university. Check it out Here.

Ha! I'm 16 and going to college atm, not university:)

But don't worry I'll keep an eye out for what you just mentioned:p

Your best days are ahead of you! Once you get to college will be the best times of your life. Just remember the kids that" make it" are the ones that can seperate work from play! Lastly remember to make plenty of friends because this is the name if the game to get great contacts and networking for the future.

As of right now this is what I carry in my bag.

Mid 2010 13" MacBook/2.4GHZ/8GB RAM/500GB
It's my main go to laptop. It's been working pretty awesome for an almost 4 year old laptop. I use it to do reports/papers or if I'm in class take notes if I didn't bring my iPad.

16GB iPad Mini 1G
I use it to write notes and read PDFs and documents on our school webpage. I also use it for FaceTime and iMessage when I'm not near my macbook.

Jot Pro
It's a stylus that looks like a pen. I use it to write notes on my iPad with notability.

Beats Solo HD
They work really well to block out the noise when I'm walking on campus or something. Only problem is sometimes they hurt my ears.:(

Earpods
They work pretty well and they're the only ones that can fit in my ear. I use them when I leave my beats at home OR when my beats are starting to hurt my ears.

Samsung Galaxy SIII
It's a phone.

Plus various textbooks, binders, pencils/pens etc.

My bag consists of the following items.

Late 2013 rMBP 8GB RAM 250GB SSD
Organic Chemistry Lab Manual
Student Lab Notebook
TI-30XS Multiview
TI-89 Titanium (an absolutely remarkable piece of technology)
Altoids - Cinnamon
Pens & Pencils
Ralph Lauren Polo Black
G-Drive 1TB USB 3.0
Five Star Notebook
Papers from Tutoring

The bag is a Wenger Maxxum Swiss Army Backpack and has lasted from 2005.

My bag is a Crumpler "Cheesy Disco" which I really love.

Unfortunately, what I carry in it seems rather old fashioned.

Books
...I mainly carry books.
This year I'll have AS-level books for economics, maths, further maths, English literature and chemistry (sixteen in total), along with exercise books and a planner.

Stationery
Three Parker fountain pens, a TWSBI fountain pen, a Lamy pen, a stainless steel ruler, a pair of Rotring compasses, a mechanical pencil, a protractor, two highlighters, a Casio calculator and a pair of scissors are what usually accompanied me last year. Should be a rather similar state of affairs this year.

MacBook Pro
Depending on who I have next year as my teachers, I may be note taking on my early 2011 15" MacBook Pro. What a joy that'll be to lug around with my books.

Anker Portable Battery
My phone lives in my suit jacket, but since my school is very relaxed about phone use, my battery will inevitably need charging during lunch. Can't be without a portable battery.

I just started my third year of college majoring in chemistry with a minor in biochemistry and cell biology. I'm also pre-dental.

This all goes in a High Sierra Access backpack

Tech stuff:

2012 13" Macbook Air 2.0GHz/8GB RAM/512GB SSD
This has been my only computer throughout college so far. As I've moved farther and farther into upper level classes (I'll be done with all of my major and minor requirements after this year but won't have quite enough credits to graduate early, and I'll gladly take my final year of undergrad before entering real life :p) I've found that most of my professors provide extremely detailed and well put together power points and keynotes.. and I've found it's easier to just print them as PDFs and annotate them in preview rather than try to scribble down everything my professors say in a notebook. I'm also living off campus this year so I decided to get all of my textbooks as ebooks so I could have all of them with me all the time. So far I'm liking how it's working out. I don't miss big heavy textbooks at all.

In short, this is my daily workhorse.

TI-89 Titanium
Go-to calculator. Favorite one I've ever used.

iClicker
I thought these days were over but alas, my cell bio class uses clickers.

iPhone 5 32GB white
My phone, my GPS, my iPod, my camera, my calendar, my access to the internet when I'm not using my MBA... basically an important piece of my life all in one package, even if that sounds a little shallow.

Audio-Technica ATH M-50's in White w/ Fiio E6 Headphone Amp
My favorite headphones. Great balance and good passive noise canceling. The E6 allows me to play with the EQ easily if I so choose, but I usually set it to its flattest setting.

Non-tech stuff:

Books
The books I carry around are very minimal: a somewhat hefty lab manual for my advanced inorganic chem lab, a composition notebook I use as my lab notebook where I record all my experiments etc., and a half inch 3 ring binder that holds some looseleaf and some graph paper in case I ever need to write a note to someone or if I start some written homework while on campus.

Pens/Pencils
I'm a big fan of Papermate Clearpoint pencils (the 0.5mm variety) and Pilot Accroball fine-tipped pens. I also carry a Sharpie around mostly for use in lab to label glassware during and after experiments.

Miscellaneous/Personal
Wallet, apartment/school/car keys, 32 oz. wide-mouth Nalgene water bottle, coffee thermos, spare pair of contacts, a pair of glasses, a pair of sunglasses, lab coat on days I need it, and an inhaler. My asthma is usually exercised-induced but you never know.

I don't have a backpack.

I own two suitcases, but I am trying to go paperless.
Normaly I just carry my ipad mini and iphone. Often I also carry my rmbp in a separate case.

Sorry, I didn't get a quote notification for this, but thank you for your advice:)

I have a medium sized Chrome Messenger bag. Bought it because it's water proof and has a lifetime warranty.

15" rMBP
Thunderbolt to RJ45 adapter
Short length of network cable
iPhone charging cable and plug
TI nSpire calculator and charger
Razer Naga
Cosair (IIRC) Survivor 64GB water proof USB drive
Heavy ass books
Sometimes it has clothes in it

That's about it, but I live out of my backpack some days and go to school for a dual degree in Cyber Security and Cyber Engineering. Plus it's great for the motorcycle except for the weight.
